"But where do I start?" – a random student maybe idk

tl;dr just start what you're putting off, ya lazy bum

(Been a while since I've wrote one of these and first time I'm posting one on my site. Don't expect anything informative or mind-blowing, this is just gonna be me blabbering on.)

If you're not aware, I'm a final year student at my university and have ~8 months left till I graduate and get out of this hell-hole. A lot of students at this point have had at least one internship or some professional experience. And if some particular student has not gained any sort of experience and this degree is the only thing they've entrusted their future too, then they're honorably fucked.... is what I would've said if I had just started in university.

I've been working professionally a bit before since I started university and I think the time when I started working was a golden period, because you got to see both sides of the coin. Meaning I've spent countless hours staring at a screen, scouring Stack Overflow, Reddit or any other forum/documentation for a solution to a minuscule problem AND I've sat in front of Claude Code to spin up an MVP in a matter of minutes for a side project I had thought of. When all the AI shenanigans were released to the public, they shifted how we write code and solve problems. We were shipping faster than we could make a bowl of instant noodles (I prompted Claude to solve like 10 assignments of mine and it was done before I even came back). Seriously, the whole world is pushing millions of commits every week. The students that are graduating today with me – if they have no idea what to do and still haven't learned anything in these 4 years, they still have the chance to learn. Cause the amount of information on the internet (given A LOT of it is mis-information) is enough to teach you and get you started on your own.

But I still see people around me scared to death on what should they do cause they haven't even learned how to code a simple website and honestly it's getting really exhausting how students, especially in Pakistan, are not competent and are used to spoon-fed opportunities. The point I'm trying to make is that: all you ever need to do is just start. That's it. We make the world around us more complex and overwhelming than it actually is. But if you only put in the consistent work, you'll get what you want. There is no secret sauce to achieving anything as some people make it out to be. So, go ahead, and just start.
